When you visit your local supermarket and don't find the products you want, you could be forgiven for thinking problems occurred further up the chain with farmers or manufacturers.
However even if a retail store receives all the product it had ordered, the store still has to overcome the final hurdle of the last fifty yards to get the product onto shelf. Many of the issues experienced at store can send alarm bells ringing: elementary problems in being able to find the product at the back of store; through to avoiding damaging the product and getting it onto the shelf safely.
The ECR UK Board commissioned the production of a Blue Book on the subject of RRP between suppliers and retail partners. This Blue Book is the culmination of a year's work from the ECR UK Retail Packaging Workgroup, where Branded and Own Label suppliers have been working jointly with retailers.
The objective has been to share understanding and individual perspectives, to articulate the industry pressures, and the movement towards wider deployment and more effective use of RRP.
We hope you find this document a valuable introduction and a good starting point to the rich resources that already exist in this burgeoning industry.
