This is an exciting time to join IGD. As an international food and grocery expert, we operate at the very heart of the food and grocery industry and are in demand for our in-depth and authoritative knowledge of the industry. We are now looking for an experienced and commercially focused analyst to help drive our international research programme.
 

What’s it like to work at IGD?

As one of our senior analysts, your remit will be wide ranging and some of the attractions of working for IGD include:

• Variety of work: no two days are the same at IGD; one day you could be working with a client to deliver a briefing to their board, and the next meeting senior players within the industry to build your research and insight on the international food and grocery sector.
   
• Deliver IGD’s customised work: you will be in front of our members and customers regularly; delivering briefings or training courses and speaking at conferences. • Opportunity to travel: in the past year the team have delivered projects to clients in 19 markets worldwide. With responsibility for driving IGD’s international research programme, this is a great opportunity to travel extensively; visiting stores, retailers and manufacturers in Europe and beyond.
   
• Complete ownership and accountability: you will be responsible for a specific research streams (covering themes, retailers and markets, developing IGD’s thinking and identifying new revenue streams for this research
   
• Networking at the highest level: as a senior analyst you will be meeting people from across the industry at a senior level, building on IGD’s expertise and unique position in the market
   

What does the role involve:

As a Senior Retail Analyst within IGD’s international Market Intelligence team you will:

• Be responsible for the development of specific research streams (covering themes, retailers and markets), managing numerous projects at one time, anticipating the issues facing our industry and assessing the implications for our members
   
• Obtain new market insight from research trips, meetings with retailers/suppliers and visits to concept stores
   
• Deliver this research to our customers through reports, commissioned work and added value content for IGD’s online subscription services
   
• Secure and undertake bespoke commissioned projects and training for our customers. These projects will be varied and may include researching a specific issue, delivering a series of briefings for a client or working cross-functionally across the wider IGD team
   
• Present information and act as a spokesperson at IGD conferences, discussion forums and wider industry events
   

What experience and skills are we looking for?

You will have gained experience from working in the industry, for FMCG suppliers, retailers or consultancies, and will be passionate about this fast-moving and dynamic sector.
