Lean underpins the growth strategy of world class businesses. It involves new ways of organising work that will help strip out costs and create value in supply chains.
In applications of lean across FMCG businesses we have found that 20% of costs in food chains are non-value adding – costs that can either be reduced or eliminated.
As input costs continue to increase at alarming rates and consumers tighten their belts the time is right to apply lean to your supply chain.
IGD has joined forces with Cardiff Business School to deliver a two-day interactive Lean Food Chain Course on 11-12 November.
The course will:
- Provide you with great examples of how lean is adding value in the food chain for you to take back into your business and use to inspire others
- Show you how lean has achieved significant and sustainable competitive advantage for many companies that you could apply
- Build your confidence and show you why you need to work with trading partners to bring about a better future for your FMCG supply chain
- Demonstrate how lean will help you move improvement activity from project to day job
- Inspire and enable you to start your learning-by-doing journey from innocence/awareness to competence/excellence
| Who will benefit from attending? |
|
- This course is designed for individuals who are new to lean thinking and who want to understand the key principles and improvement tools that deliver effective and efficient supply chains.
- It is also ideal for individuals who have an awareness of lean but who need to develop a greater understanding of how lean can be applied across the supply chain and how it affects their job role.
- No previous experience of lean thinking is necessary.
